Philosophy - Psychology - Linguistics - Computer Science

A little about me…

I grew up in a diverse community in the suburbs of New York City. As the only child of first generation immigrants, I always found my identity to be centered around celebrating diverse cultures, ideologies, and perspectives. Sometimes, you come to realize there is comfort in belonging nowhere and everywhere, rather than trying desperately to fit into a specific niche. This perspective has proven to be advantageous for me in an increasingly globalized world.

When I declared my major in Cognitive Systems, I fell in love with the holistic and well rounded nature of this discipline. Jumping around from philosophy, psychology, linguistics, and computer science classes kept my studies interesting. I quickly realized how tech would infiltrate into every field, as we talked about the emerging presence of AI and machine learning in fields like law enforcement, healthcare, and even social sciences. I figured that whatever field I was going to pursue, I should know not only how to use certain software, but understand how the algorithms work and where the technology is headed.

Recognizing the impact of the current technological revolution, but having that humanistic and social inclination in me as a scientist and researcher, I became passionate about using technology to serve humanity. As I researched my career options, UX and HCI turned out to be the perfect combination of involving technology and human connection.

Since I’ve moved to Washington, I’ve gotten to enjoy the beautiful nature of the Pacific Northwest with its hiking trails, lakes, and snow top mountains. Outside of my UX work, you can find me playing tennis, enjoying a hike, or sitting around pondering life’s big questions.
